I am going to be looking at a teaser trailer, theatrical trailer and TV spot for the film Incredibles 2 and comparing the differences between the types of trailers.


Teaser Trailer:

  • Blank red room.
  • Only two characters are shown - no character develop.
  • Very brief outline of what will take place - discovering the baby has powers.

Theatrical Trailer:

  • Trailer starts with a scene from the film.
  • Pixar production logo is shown.
  • All the main characters are shown, and developed than the teaser.
  • Better understanding of the storyline.
  • Slow pace of editing at the start and speeds up towards the end, showing action shots.
  • Non specific release date - Summer.
  • Taglines.
  • The Incredibles logo and name of the film is shown very near the end, followed by another short clip.
  • Exact date is shown at the end.
