Conventions of Film Websites
- Name of the film - largest text on the page.
- Navigation bar - this allows you to be able to switch between pages on the website and normally includes trailers, social media links, a place to buy tickets and merchandise.
- Dominant image - showing certain or main characters (picture may be the same or different to the image on the poster).
- Release Date.
- Production company logos - sometimes it is the main production companies website that has a linked page to the specific film.
- Social Media - may be linked so you can click on it and it will take you to that certain social media page.
- Trailers - this may pop up as you click on the website in order to give the audience a sneak peak if they haven't already seen it, as a way to influence to viewer to see the film.
- Synopsis - informs the audience about the storyline of the film.
- Cast and crew names - if the cast has popular actors is may attract the audience to want to see the film.
- Gallery - this will include photos of the filming process and will allow the audience to be able to see the relationship between characters.
- Behind the scenes - similar to the gallery, this will include bloopers and photos of the cast and crew filming, especially showing funny moments that have happened during the process. Sometimes extended clips are included that aren't part of the actual film.
- Tickets - you usually will be able to buy tickets through a linked page on the website.
- Merchandise - clothing, soundtracks, action figures etc will be available to buy on the website.
- Reviews.
- Rating.
- Awards.
